Spiddal is a small village located just over 10 miles west of Galway City on the western route to Connemara. It is a very popular village for tourists who want to visit some of the most spectacular scenery in Ireland and caters for all their needs with a wide selection of accommodation including hostels, self catering, hotels and Bed and Breakfasts. It also has excellent restaurants specialising in fresh locally caught seafood. The pubs offer entertainment nightly with traditional music sessions. Spiddal has a beach, a pier and a marina to accommodate tourists who wish to do some deep sea fishing in Galway Bay. There is a craft centre where you can buy genuine gifts produced in the shops.
