Oranmore with its growing population of about 7000 is located approximately five miles from Galway city. Oranmore still has the feel of a rural area while having all the facilities of a busy town. It is an ideal location for tourists with its large and varied types of accommodation as it is on the road to many of the countries most popular places like Galway to the west , Dublin to the east and Killarney in the south. Oranmore has many attractions to offer with the magnificent championship golf course Galway Bay Golf and Country Club designed by the famous local golfer Christy O Connor.
