Donnellys of Barna, Award winning Barna Resraurant

Donnellys of Barna was originally a thatched cottage owned by the Donnelly family who ran a pub and shop there for over 100 years. Donnellys Bar and Restaurant has retained the old stonework and woodwork of the original house which helps to create its old world charm and atmosphere. In 1922 The Black and Tans tried to burn down the building and there are bullet holes still visible at the front of the building.
Donnellys Restaurant which is close to Barna Pier, just four miles from Galway City is an award winning gourmet delight specializing in fresh locally caught seafood. Donnellys cater for groups and individuals with its intimate nooks as well as a larger restaurant area for groups. Afterwards you can relax in the cosy bar and mingle with the locals who have caught your plaice or lobster. .
